The two Onions
These days it's not uncommon for me to find the reviews and features of the Onion A.V. Club to be funnier than the content of the actual Onion. Case in point, this week's summer movie preview, which had this to say about the upcoming Pink Panther remake with Steve Martin:
The Pink Panther
Director: Shawn Levy
Cast: Steve Martin, Kevin Kline, Beyoncé Knowles
Causes for excitement: There is no law forcing anyone to see it.
Probable cause for disappointment: It exists.
I hear you, Onion. I hear you.

Here, here. I expected better sense out of Martin and Kline.
I have some words for you, Alan, and they are "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Wild Wild West."
But seriously, this summer is really depressing. EW recently trumpeted "It's the best summer in years!" on its cover, and they're right, actually, in that several movies this summer have real promise, but there's just search a dearth of originality. Quick, name a big summer Hollywood movie that's not a franchise picture or a remake!
In other news, I will forgive Hollywood most anything if Batman Begins kicks ass. I'm easy.
