Comics again
Reason to wait for the trade #1,235: the fourth Teen Titans collection, "The Future Is Now," collects TEN ISSUES and costs TEN DOLLARS. That's absurd. Kudos to DC for keeping all the Titans trades at 10 bucks no matter their length. Singles are for suckers.
The only comic I can think of where it's advantageous to own the singles is Seven Soldiers. I'm always going back and re-reading random chapters, so I can put all the pieces together. That series is like crack.

I can't always wait for the trades because I'm never sure which of series the companies will decided to collect and which of they won't
example: Hellblazer. tons of gaps in those trades
Well, sure. Hellblazer's been going on forever and a day, so the trades aren't up to snuff. But if you want all of Ennis or Azzarello's runs, they're right there for you.
Most new ongoings these days all get traded up, so it's a nice thing for those of us who have soured on singles. Heck, it's hard to find a new series that ISN'T collected or going to be collected. DC and Rucka have even promised that the full run of "Gotham Central" is going to be collected (3rd book's already been announced), and if a low-selling book like that can make it, there's hope for all of them.
Really, the best thing about "Infinite Crisis" is how it's made DC cut down the massive lag time between singles and trades. All the lead-in miniseries are already out in trades! It's like Bill Jemas is running the show over there or something.
