Sunburn update

Did I mention I got a sunburn playing softball? I got red in a couple of places, but my forehead got BAKED. And it's now moved from the "kinda painful" stage to the "seriously itchy" phase. Leslie's got some aloe stuff at home (she got singed, as well), but it can only do so much. Every so often I take some water or something with a cool surface and apply it to my forehead. It is sort of ridiculous, or should I say DEAD SEXY.

Today's Lesson: When applying sunscreen to your face, don't forget your forehead.

Today's Mystery Time: Why did only one of the backs of my legs get burnt? I was quite judicious in not applying sunscreen to either of them.

Sunscreen is a mystery. I swear sometimes I just decides to get up and walk off the places you put it.

My scalp still hurts. :( And my freaking legs are still sore. WTF? Low impact my ass. :)

yeah, i feel you. burns suck. especially since my good-for-nothing paleface of a body burns under just about anything, including fluorescent tubes...

in other news, i finished the [first] book. it was pretty good, except for that one scene with the "and now let's chow down on warm raw seal kidney with a side of blubber--we must regain our strength to fight the goa'uld! ahem, i mean, 'gobblers,' of course."

and given that i had the misfortune of seeing pirates2 last weekend, i have to bitch about how the book ended, or rather didn't. i don't mind if authors want to leave themselves a little wiggle room for a sequel, but land's sakes, people, throw us a bone before you slap us upside the head with the back cover! would it really be so hard to put just a smidgeon of self-contained storyline in so that coming to the end is ever so slightly closer to blissful satisfaction than frustrated confusion?

bitching aside, though, the book was amusing, and i'm reading the next one now, so i guess that has to say something already...

Jeff!!!!

If you go to Softpedia.com you can download Monkey Island 1+2 for Mac for free.

You're welcome.

Also if you can figure out how to run them fullscreen I would be indebted to you.

Laurel, my scalp is itchy. And probably flaky. It's so attractive, I can't even tell you.

Chris, just to warn you, the 2nd book ends even more abruptly. Best just to take it as a cohesive whole.

Mike, thanks for the tip. We'll see how it goes.

Oh my god Jeff, I figured it out. All you have to do is set the monitor to a much lower resolution. On mine 640x512 works best. Then you've got full-screen full-sound full-color Monkey Island. I'm so goddamned excited right now.

-You know who this is!

Holy shit! I am IN like FLYNN.

Hmm... a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle. Whatever use could that be?

yeah, I've been having gross monster dandruff this week from peeling. but it's almost done, so by the time I leave the house again I shouldn't gross people out.
