Hot TV action!
Whoa, Lost must have heard me complaining about it, because suddenly it's all like "I have an actual plot now!" The last two episdoes have been really good and (gasp) actually had something happen on the island. I thought Charlie was done for, didn't you? Although someone will have to explain how Jack's flashbacks tied in to the actual themes of the episode. It felt like they were stretching that a little, but at least the stuff on the island was cool. And for the first time it was more interesting than the flashback! Hey-o!
Veronica Mars remains entertaining, and The Wire is about to wrap up its season. They brought back Brother Mouzone! It's like they read my mind.

I'm suddenly totally into Lost. I've only seen the last two episodes so knowing that these two were probably the best, I don't feel bad for missing all the other episodes. Of course, they are reshowing the first two hours or something like that, so I figure I can catch up.
I figured Charlie was gone for sure. I actually kind of liked the idea. Not that I don't like Charlie, I love the guy, but man, it would have been damn interesting if they killed off such a cool and likeable character. But I guess they really couldn't...Jack had to be able to work through his demons by saving someone, right?
So, I think that thing they found is an alien spaceship, how about you?

The last two episodes have been pretty awesome, indeed. Can't say I ever really believed Charlie was dead (he's just too big a star), though they nearly had me. Actually, I think Charlie kinda sucks. He's so whiny. Major points would've been awarded if he did actually die.
The only connection I can see between the island and flashback sequences is how much Jack values life. The scene in the operating room and the scene where he revives Charlie are essentially mirror images of each other. Only the second time, he refuses to listen to whomever is telling him to stop. Growth, you see.
I can see where you're going with the Jack theme, but I just thought he did all his growing in the flashback. His dad was the one who was telling him to call it on the patient in the flashback, but then in the end Jack stands up to him. And I guess that gave him the resolve to keep pounding Charlie on the chest. It just seemed like all the growth happened in the flashback, and it seemed less like necessary storytelling and more just an explination that provides necessary time filler. Which isn't to say it was bad. Both plots worked great on their own. I just don't think they gelled.
Jenni, you should watch the two-hour pilot this week! It's the best thing ever! Except for the episode focusing on Locke. That episode is the best one yet, I think. Also, it is not an alien spaceship. It is an underground pol-bo-saur manufacturing plant.
Agreed, the Locke episode is the best, hands down. Also, you're both wrong. It's an underground Nazi base. With Nazis dressed as dino-bears!
