Jenni - Having formed my appreciation for long-term narratives almost exclusively through comic books at a young age (I didn't start watching Buffy until senior year of high school), I've learned to appreciate a good cliffhanger. In comics, the burst of narrative is much shorter, the wait longer. Imagine having to wait a MONTH before the next Galactica. Also, it would only be 15 minutes long. Anyway, cliffhangers are cool. Enjoy them.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that while BSG is TV's best show, the best cliffhangers belong to Prison Break. Unlike BSG, Prison Break does not have any standalone episodes, and every ep -- hell, nearly every act -- ends with an ingenious, slam-bang cliffhanger.

If by "best" you mean "best," then yes.

Whenever when "24" could be relied upon for an awesome cliffhanger, episode after episode? For that 2/3 of season 1? Maybe this season will be better.
Good point about Prison Break. I mean, that show's just ridiculous, but you sure don't see much of it coming.
(Mainly because it's ridiculous.)
That's true. Prison Break's cliffhangers are indeed a bit of cheat because the whole show routinely throws out logic (both internal and external).
